Paper Title
Landslide Mapping using Multi Temporal Geospatial Dataset
Abstract
The rapid development in remote sensing technologies has opened a new era for the acquisition of accurate and
reliable 3D spatial data. Satellite images and LIDAR datasets can capture data quickly without having to make contact with
hazardous areas or objects. This technique provides photorealistic 3D point clouds, which are indispensable for many fields
in geoscience and engineering, particularly landslide-hazard, slope instability, and rock movement mapping. In this article,
we present a study on the use of historical and new remote sensing data for mapping el-Deweika landslide that happened in
September 2008. Data was collected before and after the landslide happened. We showed the importance and need for
remote sensing technology to map hazardous Earth surface movements.
