Abstract : Aung Zayacable stayed bridge was built over Hlaing river, Yongon, in 2000 and is currently used to connect Insein Township with HlaingTharyar Township. The changes in cable tension forces can provide important information on the bridge overall health condition. After 18years of the bridge service, seven cables with obvious tensile force changes are found using measured cable forces over the years (2000, 2006, 2008,2009, 2016 & 2018) provided by the Ministry of Construction. Although the existing cable stayed bridge is designed to resist against the earthquake loading, the structural response of the bridges will differ under the combined effect of force change cables and earthquake load. In this study, to determine the effect of force change cables on the bridge subjected to earthquake loading which is one of the most important extreme loading cases, the time history analysis is performed to provide the structural earthquake response of the bridge. Earthquake loading is selected as PGA =0.25g for 2% probability of exceedance in 50 years that reflect SHZ(Seismic Hazard Zone) range for the bridge location. Keywords - Tensile Force Changes, Cable Stayed Bridge, Earthquake Load, Time History Analysis.
