Abstract : Rectified images and orthoimagesare among the standard photogrammetric products.Accurate mapping
information of urban areas is needed for cadastral applications. In this paper, a description and distinction of rectified images
and orthophoto generation is madeand tested over parts of the urban area of the city of Trikala, Greece. Both products provide
accurate geometric information,combined with the pictorial elements of an aerial image,for mapping purposes.
