Abstract : This paper measured rail displacement where close-track construction is ongoing on the currently operating railway. As for the measurement method of rail displacement, the study used rail mounted sensor and sleeper mounted sensor. The railway track installed with measurement sensor is composed of concrete sleeper and ballast bed. As the result of rail displacement measurement, the sensor installed in lengthwise had about 4mm difference in displacement by its measuring method, and sensor installed in widthwise had about 1mm difference in displacement by its measuring method. Such difference in measurement result indicates displacement on rail and sleeper are different. The cause of measured displacement difference seems to be the behavior of ballast bed. Sleeper installed on ballast bed is more influenced by the behavior of ballast bed rather than rail, which led to the different displacement on rail.
