Paper Title :
Reliability-Based Codified of Concrete Structures in Kuwait

Author :Naser Alenezi

Article Citation :Naser Alenezi , (2019 ) " Reliability-Based Codified of Concrete Structures in Kuwait " , International Journal of Advances in Mechanical and Civil Engineering (IJAMCE) , pp. 13-15, Volume-6,Issue-6

Abstract : There are numerous reasons for developing specific structural codes for a certain region or a country. Many countries have adopted various alien design code standards in the construction of reinforced concrete (R/C) structures. Because these code standards are not designed for local conditions, they are deemed to be less adequate to provide the proper requirements for long-term durability of the R/C structural components. Nearly old and new structures constructed in Kuwait and other countries are designed based on a mixture of various well-established international traditional and/or reliability-based codes. The problem is that these codes were developed specifically for some countries, such as the United State of America, Canada, and some European countries, and they do not necessarily reflect the societal, geographical, and harsh environmental effects on strength, loading, materials. The most practical and used worldwide equations or performance function for R/C beams and columns were scrutinized and selected. A set of live load representative samples were collected and quantified and being statistically analyzed. Keywords - Concrete, Structure, Live Load, Dead Load, Residential.
