Article Citation :Ilhami Demir ,Ozer Sevim , (2016 ) " Mechanical Effect of Alkali Silica Reaction on Lithium Nitrate Added Mortar " , International Journal of Advances in Mechanical and Civil Engineering (IJAMCE) , pp. 114-115, Volume-3,Issue-5

Abstract : Alkali silica reaction expansion of lithium additives is known to have the effect of reducing. However, the number of studies examining the effect of lithium nitrate, versus alkali silica reaction (ASR) is quite limited. ASR is an important chemical hazard which leads to the deterioration of concrete and concrete structures. In this study, the effect of ASR to the lithium nitrate added cement mortars specimens are produced. Different cement mortars specimens are produced by adding LiNO3 to the 0%, 0.5%, 1% and 1,5% in mass ratio of cement. In accordance with TS EN 196-1 for flexural and compressive strength the samples were prepared in the size of 40x40x160 mm with the effect of ASR. The specimens are tested on compressive and flexural strengths were done on the samples which were cured in drinking water. As a result the best flexural and compressive strengths in the samples which were immersed in drinking water were observed in 1,5 % lithium nitrate mixtures Keywords— Lithium nitrate, Sulfate Effect, Resistance, Expansion.
