Paper Title :
Clogging Behaviour of OGFC Mixes

Author :Soorya, S.N. Sachdeva, B.G. Sreedevi

Article Citation :Soorya ,S.N. Sachdeva ,B.G. Sreedevi , (2017 ) " Clogging Behaviour of OGFC Mixes " , International Journal of Advances in Mechanical and Civil Engineering (IJAMCE) , pp. 17-20, Volume-4,Issue-3

Abstract : Open Graded Friction Course (OGFC) mix is an open graded Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) mixture having high surface drainability and is recommended for high-speed, high-volume road-corridors in many countries around the world for easy drainage during rainfall. The performance life of OGFC depends mainly upon its permeability. Clogging of voids in the OGFC is one of the main causes of deterioration of performance and durability of the mixture. This paper presents the results of an experimental study on clogging behavior of OGFC mixes when a Clogging Material (CM) is added to clog the pores, by conducting Falling head permeability tests. Index terms- OGFC, Clogging, Permeability, Hot Mix Asphalt.
