Article Citation :Akshatha Shetty ,Katta Venkataramana ,Babunarayan K S , (2018 ) " Effect of Accelerated Corrosion on RC Members " , International Journal of Advances in Mechanical and Civil Engineering (IJAMCE) , pp. 44-47, Volume-5,Issue-5

Abstract : Corrosion of reinforcing steel is a major problem addressed by the construction industry nowadays. As corrosion has a significant effect on the flexural strength, deformational behavior, bond strength and mode of failure, durability, the ductility of reinforced concrete structures, the study about the process and effect of corrosion become important. In the present work, an overview of experimental investigation has been carried out using accelerated corrosion technique to study the effect of different types of steel bars using gravimetric loss method. Performance of TMT bars under corrosive environment and also on bond strength effect. Keywords: Corrosion, Impressed Current Technique, RC members, Mass loss, Bond Strength
