Author :Sanjay Bagul, Digambar Parkhe, G. M. Sanghani, R. R. Shah

Article Citation :Sanjay Bagul ,Digambar Parkhe ,G. M. Sanghani ,R. R. Shah , (2022 ) " Soil Properties and their Influence on Dam Design " , International Journal of Advances in Mechanical and Civil Engineering (IJAMCE) , pp. 45-48, Volume-9,Issue-2

Abstract : Abstract - Assessment of soil properties is very important role in design of dam. Design depends on the correct assessment; if improper assessment is done then dam failure may be happen. In this paper, different soil properties and their influence over design has been studied. Aim of this paper is to study various parameters of soil to find out limiting values of soil properties. This paper will help as guidelines for dam design. Keywords - Soil Classification, Soil and Water Relationship, Pore Pressure, Shrinkage Limit, Compaction, Consolidation, Swelling, Influence on Dam, Soil Properties, Safe Design

Type : Research paper
